Personal Appearance
- The principal or subscribing witness must appear personally before the notary during the notarial act
- Valid and current identification examples include a valid drivers license, state issued ID, military ID, or a passport
- Certain affidavits, real estate deeds and other documents may not be legally binding unless they are properly notarized
